Sadly, we lack the resources to bring the 8 musicians we worked with in West Africa all the way to East London for a one-off show. Instead we’ve recruited some of the best musicians we know and we’ve been working hard on arrangements to bring you some of the tracks from the album, live!
Here we are rehearsing on Monday with George Cole on the bass!
We will also be joined onstage by the formidable Jaly Suntou Susso, an amazing Kora player from Casamance, Sénégal. Jaly, as it happens, is the nephew of Sadio Cissokho, who we worked with on the album!
We’re also delighted to announce that the stage will be warmed up the incredible talent of Amrit Kaur Lohia, a London-based singer, peot and sarangi player.
